Two Vital Secrets to Lose Belly

Do you
struggle with losing excess belly fat? I bet you think

commercials making all kinds of miracle claims that you can lose
your abdominal fat overnight with their magic pill. How about all
of the deceptive infomercial gadgets claiming you can reduce your
belly fat in a few days just by strapping on some worthless
"ab-belt" around your waist, or by using their patented
"ab-roller-rocker" thingy.
I hope you've been insulted by all of this fraudulent marketing
and the gimmicks and scams that are pushed on you to get you to
believe that an overnight belly-fat reduction miracle is
possible.
So let's look past the scams and gimmicks and get down to the
reality of what techniques and strategies really do help you to
lose your stubborn belly fat and keep it off for life!
One: The first important principle is
how to structure your workouts. In order to stimulate fat-loss from
your abdomen, you need to stop wasting your time doing all types of
ab exercises with hundreds of reps of sit ups, crunches, leg lifts,
and torso twists in the hopes of "spot-reducing" your belly and
love handles.
You probably know by now if you've read any reputable fitness
publications over the past decade that spot-reduction DOES
NOT happen. It is a myth that just doesn't go away. The
truth is, you don't lose belly fat by doing exercises that target
the midsection. But unfortunately, even though most people now
realize this (or at least they should), they still spend WAY too
much of their workout time doing ab-specific exercises.
Now don't misunderstand me, a certain amount of ab-targeted
exercises are great and they do help to strengthen your core and
help you maintain a healthy back. But the fact is that direct
abdominal exercises should be only a small portion of your workout
routines. The majority of your time should be spent focusing on
full body multi-joint exercises that work the largest muscle groups
of the body like the legs, chest, and back.
Now that is one of the REAL secrets for ridding your body of
that jiggly belly fat for good. Focusing on big multi-joint
exercises for the largest muscles of your body greatly increases
your metabolism both during the workout, and for 24-48 hours after
your workout. This also stimulates an increased production of
fat-burning hormones in your body. You simply don't get this type
of metabolic and hormonal response by wasting most of your time
with "abdominal-pumping" exercises.
Do you really want to lose belly fat? Well,
then get your butt under a barbell and do some squats, deadlifts,
lunges, step-ups, and back and chest work. It doesn't matter if you
use barbells, dumbbells, or even bodyweight exercises, the focus
needs to be on large muscle multi-joint exercises at a high
intensity. That means no 5-minute rest periods between sets.
Losing your belly fat for good will require focus and intensity
in your workouts! Anyone who tells you that you can do it while
sitting on your couch watching TV with an "ab-belt" strapped to
you, or doing only 2-minutes of crunching with your
"ab-rocker-roller" is simply lying to you!
Two: The second important principle to
rid yourself of your flabby belly involves nutrition. You need to
realize that "diets" only work against your body in your effort to
lose abdominal fat. If you follow any of the fad diets like
low-carb, or low-fat, or the grapefruit diet, the soup diet, or
anything else that restricts one or more of the macro-nutrients
(protein, carbs, and fat), most of the time you will actually lose
lean muscle and reduce your metabolic rate. This will only make you
fatter in the long run, when you start to eat normally again!
Essentially you are messing up the hormonal balance in your
body, the muscle glycogen process, insulin, blood sugar, etc., and
this will stop your fat loss dead in its tracks!
So it is important to stop falling for the fad diets, and
understand that as humans, we are designed to eat a balanced diet
with a variety of foods from healthy natural sources of
carbohydrates, proteins, AND fats. This gives your body all of the
macro-nutrients as well as all of the vitamins, minerals, enzymes
and antioxidants that your body needs to run as a well-oiled
fat-burning machine!
